Remembering Eugene Gurov

Eugene (Yevgeniy) Gurov, an important contributor to the field of Meteoritics has passed away in his sleep on July 19, 2023.

“One of Eugene's major accomplishments had to do with the El'gygytgyn impact structure, which is located at a rather difficult to reach place in the far northeastern part of Russia-” [later confirming the impact origin of the crater] C. Koeberl: Meteoritics and Planetary Science online.
