A "Recent" Meteor Crater Formation Was Likely Witnessed by Locals

Likely the local people were made well aware of this impact in Australia, roughly 5400 years ago, while the continent was widely populated. This crater was identified as a meteorite impact crater much earlier than Barringer Meteorite Crater, when in 1937 when many nickel bearing metallic fragments were found around the site.
